I was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, and Africa has always been the place I call home. It’s where I’ve always felt more connected to myself. Every time I go back, I experience it in a new way—discovering fresh perspectives and deepening my connection to the landscapes, the wildlife, and the people. That constant sense of renewal is what first drew me to this work and continues to inspire me every day.

As Director of Operations at Africa Wild Safaris, I am able to immerse my lifelong love for Africa with a dedication to creating thoughtful, seamless experiences for our guests. I believe a trip to Africa is more than a journey through extraordinary places—it’s an opportunity for transformation. Some of my most meaningful moments come from hearing how our travelers are changed by their time in Africa, whether through a greater appreciation for conservation, a bond with local communities, or the profound joy of being immersed in nature.

With a foundation in entrepreneurship and leadership, I am committed to building an organization that reaches beyond travel itself. At Africa Wild Safaris, our mission is to design experiences that leave lasting memories while actively supporting the communities and ecosystems that make them possible. For me, it’s not only about sharing the beauty of Africa but also ensuring its legacy endures and thrives for generations to come.

A qualified CPA with a global academic background—from Mayo College Girls’ School in Ajmer to Jesus & Mary College (Delhi University), and a master’s degree from UNSW, Sydney—Sakshi combines financial acumen with a deep passion for travel and conservation.

Born in Ajmer and raised in Jaipur, she began her career in Sydney and Mumbai before relocating to Tanzania in 2016. Immersed in the landscapes of the Serengeti and beyond, her personal journey from safari enthusiast to safari entrepreneur has shaped her mission: to design journeys that blend luxury, authenticity, and impact.

At Africa Wild Safaris, Sakshi works alongside founder Alym Bhanji and Director of Operations Alyza Raithatha, leading the company’s growth across India and the Middle East while building strong partnerships with global travel advisors. Her focus is on creating meaningful experiences that go beyond wildlife, integrating culture, sustainability, and the magic of Africa into every itinerary.

Hi, my name is Fridah Njau, and I’m the Ground Manager at Africa Wild Safaris. I manage all client interactions from the moment they arrive, liaising with properties and overseeing the ground team, including guides and support staff.

I’ve always felt a deep connection to nature, and travel allows me to share that passion with others. I love creating journeys that go beyond ordinary experiences—where guests don’t just see wildlife, but truly feel the magic of East Africa and the warmth of its people. With a background in hospitality and tourism, I’m dedicated to making every guest feel at home in the wild. The most rewarding part of my work is witnessing travelers form a genuine bond with the wilderness, leaving with unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for conservation.

For me, travel is more than just movement—it’s about connection, conservation, and creating memories that last a lifetime.

Born and raised in Kenya, my connection to this part of the world has only deepened through my travels across Africa. In 2013, I founded Africa Wild Safaris with a clear vision: to share the beauty of this continent in a way that is authentic, transformative, and rooted in quality. Launching the company from Vancouver, Canada, felt like the right way to bring my Africa to North America, offering guidance to clients who might otherwise work with general travel agents who have never been on safari.

For me, true luxury is never just about comfort; it is about creating the space for reflection, connection, and perspective. Every journey begins with listening, taking the time to understand what matters most to our travellers, and then curating experiences that bring those wishes to life in ways that are seamless, thoughtful, and deeply personal.

At Africa Wild Safaris, I am proud that we craft safaris that are both meaningful and respectful of the people, places, and wildlife that make them possible. My hope is that every traveler returns home carrying a piece of Africa in their heart, changed in some way and inspired to return.

Today, we celebrate how the company has grown. We have had the honor of welcoming many visitors to our land, sharing our culture, our people, our language, and, of course, our wildlife. We are proud of our heritage and excited to mark the next chapter with a rebrand, evolving from Africa Wild to Africa Wild Safaris.

A long-standing interest in travel has shaped a path from growing up in Toronto to designing journeys around the world. After beginning a career focused on Europe, Africa became a clear priority, offering experiences unlike anywhere else, from gorilla trekking to the Great Migration and nights spent listening to wildlife under open skies.

With over four years in the travel industry, the approach is practical and client-focused: listening carefully, planning thoughtfully, and creating itineraries that are personal, well-paced, and reliable. At Africa Wild Safaris, each journey is supported by trusted local partners and a conservation-minded framework. This ensures the right properties at the right time, experienced guides, and seamless logistics throughout.

The objective is straightforward: to make complex trips feel simple, and to deliver experiences that exceed expectations from start to finish.
